The Northampton Project is located approximately 450km north of Perth and 40km south of Geraldton. The Project consists of 7 granted Exploration Licences, covering 1,170km2.

The area is a historical mining centre with high grade copper, lead and zinc vein style deposits. Mining first commenced in 1848, with total past production of approximately 4,268t of copper, 77,700t of lead, 42.3t of zinc and 212.3kg of silver. The vast majority of mines were no deeper than 100m in depth, limited by the mining techniques available at the time and an inability to effectively mine below the water table.

The area has had minimal modern exploration since the 1970s.
